Key points impacting the Asian market that were raised and discussed included:

  • A 1.8% decrease in market size in 2019 primarily due to African Swine Fever
  • A 3.6% decrease in market size in 2020 due to African Swine Fever and Covid-19
  • A 4.3% projected growth (year on year) in market size up to 2024.

Increase in human population and increase in middle class wealth is projected to drive growth in the animal health market.

Market split (and innovation focus) by key regions appear to be:

  1. China - swine, companion animals, poultry (vaccines, parasiticides)
